Receiving Holy Communion During Worship

(Please refer to the Our Beliefs page to read Faith Lutheran’s full stance on Holy Communion)

"Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.  Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.  For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died." 1 Corinthians 11:27-30 (ESV)

Paul warns us about taking Holy Communion improperly without diligent examination. Paul says it IS the body and blood of Christ!  And the warning is if we do not believe that, we are not offending just the bread and wine, be we are offending the BODY and BLOOD. It is a sin that brings judgment.

It is because of these Words of Paul, we recommend that all who participate at our altar be instructed on the proper reception of this holy and sacred meal. And I would add that the preparation for Holy Communion is fully worth all benefits and blessings, that is KNOWING our sins are fully forgiven and our slate is wiped completely clean.  Thank you Jesus! Come to Faith, you will never be the same.

Please contact Pastor Ron if you are interested in receiving Holy Communion and are not already a member of Faith Lutheran Church or another Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
